At TUN2U I built WordPress themes and plugins from scratch, on projects of every size, for clients like Ayvens, Buffetti, Safilo and Fastweb. Most of the sites I built score 100 in the Performance tab of Google PageSpeed Insights.

Themes without a page builder

The themes started from scratch, with no page builder and no premium theme as a base, so I have total control over the generated code, with no needless bloat. Styles in SCSS with a modular architecture, modern JavaScript for interactions, builds with Webpack or Gulp. I care about accessibility, with attention to WCAG standards and to keyboard and screen-reader navigation.

100 on performance

The PageSpeed score is no accident: images in WebP and AVIF, lazy loading, inlined critical CSS, targeted prefetching, and minified JavaScript and CSS. At the application and server level I use advanced caching, configure HTTP headers for browser caching, and optimise database queries by eliminating N+1s and using the WP Object Cache. On high-traffic sites I've worked with Redis and Varnish.

Custom plugins

I wrote plugins for complex custom post types, catalogue filters, sync with external APIs and workflow automation, built on WordPress's native APIs: hooks (actions and filters), the REST API, the Transients API for caching and the Options API for settings. I make heavy use of Advanced Custom Fields for flexible editing interfaces, Contact Form 7 for forms and Yoast for SEO, with XML sitemaps, breadcrumbs and schema markup.

WooCommerce and multilingual sites

On WooCommerce I customised checkouts, discount systems and Italian and international payment gateways, and synced stores with external management systems, from a handful of products up to thousands of SKUs. For multilingual sites I've used both WPML and Polylang, handling localised URLs, hreflang tags and their impact on queries. I've also worked with WordPress Multisite and in a headless setup, with WordPress as the CMS and a REST API feeding a separate frontend.
